About Me

My Photo
Timothy Erb
This series of Hunan landscapes originated in several sketchbooks I filled when living in the countryside in China's Hunan Province (2002-2007). I have drawn on the influences of the Chinese artist 八大山人 (1626-1705) and the German Expressionist and Abstract Expressionist painters whose work impacted me as an undergraduate student at the San Francisco Art Institute (graduated 1998). These large scale charcoal on paper drawings were all worked up from the sketches done in Hunan.
